Hey beautiful!! Sorry for not posting in forever, but it was my exam week this week and last week and it just finished today! :) so I thought I would celebrate with a lovely tip for you lovely people!
------------
Ok, so if you've read the title, you should know what I'm going to talk about, well at least have an idea. Before I get on to this, I just want to let you know that I am the weirdest person ever, ask anyone I know, which I imagine would be rather hard to do... But oh well... And that's what inspired me to make this tip/advice column type thing :)
So enjoy my rant about normalness!
-----------------------------
First off, I think weird people are amazing. Simple as that. But why would you want to be normal anyway? So many people I know follow along the same "template" on how they live their lives. It always seems to go something along the lines of: go to school, go to university/college, get married, get a mortgage, have kids, get an office job, grow old, and then that's that. I completely disagree with this, and when it comes up in conversation and I happen to disagree, I get called 'weird'.
Now before we get in to the 'weird' situation, I'd just like to say: LIVE LIFE HOW YOU WANT IT. And I know I'm getting all deep here, but the saying is true, you only live once, so you should make the most of it. One of my favourite quotes just so happens to be "You have a life, but it's your choice to either live it... Or not." When I say I don't want kids, or I don't want to go to University, people FREAK out. But my answer, which is kind of 'sassy' in a way, is always "I'm not going to waste my life doing something everyone else wants me to do, what's the use of that?"
So what I'm trying to say if live your life how YOU want to, don't let other people convince you to do something you don't want to do, make your own decisions and live YOUR life to the fullest.
Back to the 'Weird' situation. Now, I never had anyone to tell me this, it took me 15 years to realize it too. You should be yourself. So many people these days are influenced by TV, especially young, female, teens. In fact, at school we have Ipads, and I noticed on one girl's Ipad, she had a photo of a Tumblr girl, as thin as air, tanned, in a bikini. I asked her why it was there, and she just replied with 'thinsperation'. this is turning in to something a lot more serious than any of us think, and I'm sure at least one of you reading this right now has gone through something like this, or knows someone who is doing the same. My heart seriously broke. People should be comfortable in their own skin, and there will always be someone out there, whether its a lover, or even just a friend, that will accept you for everything that you are. Your flaws are what makes you YOU. There is not ONE person that is like you, every single person on this Earth is an individual, we all have different appearances and personalities, why would you want to be like someone else? You were blessed with being your own person, make the most of it!
Being 'normal' is nothing. Like I said before, everyone's different, the word 'normal', in this context, shouldn't even exist. 'Normal' is what most people perceive as being a perfect human, with glossy, shiny hair, perfect skin, and a tanned, stick-thin body. Even then, no one can achieve that, even the people who seem to have that look, they've been photo-shopped and edited, it's an illusion.
To summarize this moderately long tip, behind all the anecdotes and thoughts, there is one thing I was trying to get through. You are your own person, you're wonderful in every way, your assets, perfections, talents, looks, personality, confidence level and even your flaws are what makes you, you. Nothing can change that. And each individual is perfect in their own single way. There is no such thing as being 'normal' or 'perfect-in-every-single-way'.
I hope you guys got something from this, and even though a friend, parent, sibling, inspirational teacher or lover may have told you this, it doesn't hurt to hear it again:)
